Is ski season more expensive?
Not per guest. December through March brings 119 of the 212 dinners at a middle price of $165 a head, against $162 the rest of the year. What grows is the table: about eight guests and $1,300 a night in winter, six guests and $990 otherwise.
What does dinner for two cost?
About $390, or $195 each. These chefs charge a couple between $165 and $254 a head. Charlotte Durif only cooks for seven or more, and Billy Moschella’s one table for two is his $254 candlelight dinner.
And a house of fifteen?
The usual big booking is fourteen guests and comes to about $2,270. All five chefs have menus that stretch to twenty.
